PRESERVE INDIAN CULTURE
Whenever there are times of rapid change in the society, there is a conflict between the already existing tradition and the new modernization. The process of change in the modern world is so fast.
Today the Indian society is changing rapidly not only due to its internal reasons but also in diverse and different directions due to the contacts with the societies of other countries in the technical, economic, political and cultural fields.
If we look at the process of modernization of Indian society from the perspective of our tradition, it can be broadly presented in the form of knowledge and science, political system, economic system and cultural structures. The most important role in social change in the modern world has been played by the revolutionary developments in the field of knowledge and science. Adoption of the capitalist system that has developed in the West has increased economic inequality in Indian society. In this way the situation has been created for increase in exploitation and crime. The previously established environment of cooperation and tolerance in Indian society has been destroyed, individuality and personal interests have become dominant. The joint family system of society has ended and the cooperative based economic and social system established in the rural society has almost been destroyed.
All this has had an impact on the cultural and social values of Indian society. All this is a side effect of adopting the process of modernization irrespective of the Indian society. Modernization means that a society should change its cultural tradition and religious social structures in such a way that every person of that society develops according to democratic processes because the tradition of Indian society and its material and human resources are from other countries, especially western countries. Therefore the modernization of Indian society should also be of a different type.
Indian society should take the democratic political process based on freedom and equality seriously, but keeping in mind the agriculture-based economy, plurality of population, unemployment, economic disparity etc., it should develop a social system in which there is cooperation, there should be equality, political and religious freedom, caste and communal neutrality.
