JAMMU: Premier Institute of Education and A.K Vidyamandir, Gandhi Nagar held an awareness camp on Thursday in its premises to spread awareness among students about various medicinal qualities of Tulsi–a medical herb holding an important and revered place in Ayurveda since times immemorial.

The motive of the camp was to create awareness among the students about the uses of medicinal plants in daily life to avoid various ailments. Medicinal values of the herbs were exhibited to the students through printed materials, flex hoarding, presentations and lectures by Botany faculty members.

Bhawana Sharma and Dr. Shafat Kakroo distributed saplings of Tulsi to students in the presence of C.M Sharma, Nitin Mahajan, Sameed Kakroo, Anu Kotwal, faculty and staff members.
