JAMMU: At a platform provided to them by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) to live dreams, the shortlisted 37 U-19 women cricketers across J&K are all set to grab the opportunity in the ongoing Pre-Season Camp, to make it to the final squad and represent J&K at the national scene.
Apart from a few players who have already represented J&K at the higher levels, the list includes the players from all parts of the Union Territory, even from the far off districts like Doda, Poonch, Kulgam, Shopian etc.
These cricketers are being imparted training in all the departments of the game— batting, bowling and fielding, besides are being made to go through the Yoga sessions.
Huwaid Hamid and Jyoti Bala are the Coaches, while Sunny Varma is the Strengthening and Conditioning Coach, Qazi Anoshah is the Physiotherapist and Rajesh Bandral is the Yoga Expert.
“The rigorous training sessions in hot and humid conditions will surely prepare these girls for tough competitions ahead. Facing tough conditions at home before the season is the magnificent way to get the best from these cricketers. A special focus is given on the fitness and fielding aspect of the game ,” said Huwaid.
“Each player gets her due share of batting, bowling and fielding. The amount of catches a player receives each day is absolutely amazing,” maintained Jyoti.
It is pertinent to mention here that apart from a few players who had represented the JKCA at the national scene last season, the players have been picked from the Talent Hunt 2024. JKCA deserves appreciation for picking up the players from far off areas and getting some special talent from the same.
