PPEU deputation calls on DC

UDHAMPUR: A deputation of Provincial Power Employees Union (PPEU) led by District President Sat Paul Sharma met Deputy Commissioner Udhampur on Monday and appraised the officer about genuine grievances of the PDL/TDL/ causal labour engaged in Electric Department for more than sixteen years.
Members of the deputation led by Sat Paul Sharma apprised the DC that names of many PDL/TDL workers were not inducted in the seniority list submitted to Govt. for their regularisation. Sharma strongly objected the biased updated senority list circulated by the department in view of regularision of PDL/TDL/causal labourers on need basis. Sharma alleged that need basis labourers engaged with Electric Department since 2001 to 2010 were not inducted in the list while on the other hand daily wagers engaged since 2002 to 2010 were finalised by the XEn Udhampur. He alleged the department took hasty and biased decision while preparing the list. Sharma said such type of discrimination shall not be tolerated at the stake of workers. Sharma urged the Deputy Commissioner to intervene into sensitive issue and asked the concerned XEn to prepare fresh list after reviewing it and include the genuine names of the left over workers.
Deputy Commissioner taking serious cognisance of the issue telephonically directed the XEn Rashpal Chand to review the same. Earlier, this deputation also met XEn M&RE Elect Division Udhampur with request to review the biased list already submitted to Govt. for their regularisation.
