Truth is the highest moral and spiritual concept, representing the ultimate reality and the source of all existence says Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji’s most tenets are Truth is God. One German born American developmental Psychologist Erik H. Erikson wrote a book titled Gandhiji’s Truth in 1969 and Romain Rolland in 1948 written a book on Mahatma Gandhi. Even the famous Scientist Albert Einstein expressed deep admiration towards Gandhiji referring his ideology of Truth, Non Violence and Peace. Truth, Non Violence and Peace are interconnected. Path of Truth is a power that can carry non-violence and Peace where there is truth is Power. Power is Non-violence leads to Peace. That’s why Gandhiji’s first and foremost principle that people should be abided by truth.
Foundation of Gandhian Philosophy is truth and Non-violence. Gandhji Says when I am asking truth about Non-Violence, truth says search non-violence through me. When I ask about truth to non- violence, non-violence says search truth within me. Really, truth is existence, situation and self-explanatory. It is positive. Truth is God.
At Early Stage, Gandhiji many times spent night with his home attendant Rumbha. Several times Rumbha said story of Lord Rama and Ramayan Katha. She also said that Lord Rama spent fourteen years in the Jungle for obeying of his father King Dasharath’s word of truth. Once an incident at the Childhood age of Gandhiji was happened. Gandhiji was playing with their friends nearby a temple. At that time, a statue was stolen from the temple. When it was asked who stolen the statue, the friends of Gandhiji did not tell. But, Gandhiji said the truth and told everything about stealing what he was watched. Therefore, Gandhiji says stealing is a sin and hiding stealing is great sin. Since Gandhiji became ideal for his friends.
Gandhiji was not only telling truth but also exercising truth in his daily life. Telling truth is principle of life. It is a law made by God. So truth not only existed in the word but also in work. It should be in emotion, mind and knowledge that would make a man complete, the voice of truth is voice of inner soul.
Someone asked Gandhiji, Could we see the truth? Gandhiji Said, yes we can see truth because truth is universe and for which we should love God. My interest towards truth brings me into politics. Those who are telling that there is no relation between truth and politics, they don’t know politics.
Truth is infinitive. We should say truth irrespective of it is unfavorable. Irrelevant is untruth. One who can be most powerful when he is telling truth in spite of the man being physically weak. If one bears hate, anger, selfishness the man cannot search truth. Truth is beautiful. Truth is full of happy life. Truth is tip and most valuable. Person can die but the person’s truth never dies. Truth is immortal.
Using such a most powerful weapon Truth, Gandhiji brought independence for India. People recognize him father of nation and priest of truth. That is the power of truth.
