KATRA : While the whole of India is batting for ‘Swachh Bharat’ but the Katra town where people from all corners of country visit, gives a filthy look, said President District Bar Association Kuldeep Dubey. He said that Ban Ganga Road, from where the pilgrims start their journey to the Holy Cave has been made dirty and slushy due to overflowing of sewage drains emanating soul smell. Besides the pilgrims, the school students also pass through this road facing lot of difficulty, he added.
The problem is compounded due to encroachments in the town by the shopkeepers, Rehri-Phari Walas, and street vendors in main bazaars, lanes and by-lanes causing nuisance for the pedestrians including ladies, children and aged people he said lamenting that the Municipal Committee has no such agenda or campaign to remove the encroachments resulting into encouragement to the encroachers and worsening of the situation day by day.
Dubey said that it is most essential for the Municipal Committee Katra, Administration and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to give immediate attention to this problem and act upon the Modi drive of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
