Poonch Taekwondo Club organise Tiranga pledge

POONCH: Poonch Taekwondo Club on Tuesday organised Tiranga pledge here as a mark of respect to National Flag. More than 120 young budding boys and girls of Poonch Taekwondo Club took part in this pledge ceremony held under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Taekwondo coach from Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Speaking on the occasion Rajinder Singh, Physical Education Teacher, Department of Youth services and Sports Poonch said that Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 78th year of India’s independence.
“Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 78th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building,” he said.
The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the young generation of India and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
Prominent others present were Jatinder Sharma Headmaster Taranpreet Kour General Secretary PDTA, Amit Sharma Joint Secretary PDTA, Sarvjeet Singh Wushu coach Toseef Tahir National Taekwondo medalist.
