POONCH: People of various villages on Poonch-Rawlakote route on Monday held a protest at village Ajote against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for its failure to provide regular water supply in the area. They blocked Poonch Rawlakote bus service Rahen Milan for over two hours.
The protesters alleged that the villagers have been lacking regular water supply and are compelled to fetch water from over 1 Km away from their houses. They have been passing through difficult time and the PHE Department is not paying heed to the issue, they said.On receiving the information, Niab Tehsildsar Poonch along with In-charge SHO Poonch Sameer Ahmed Bhat rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters by assuring to convey their demands to the higher authorities.
