POONCH : To spread message of communal harmony and awareness about drugs menace, Police Department today organized ‘Poonch Marathon’. Large number of people participated in the event.
The marathon was flagged off from Khaneter by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Haroon Malik and culminated at Sports Stadium Poonch after passing through various routes. More than 1600 participants including students from different high secondary schools, college, sports bodies, police personnel, paramilitary personnel, members of Poonch Bar Association and Media persons participated in the marathon. Speaking on the occasion, DC appreciated Police Department especially SSP Poonch J.S Johar and his team for organising the event. He also exhorted upon the youth to channelise their energy in the right direction and keep away from social evils. ACR Poonch Mohd Ashraf, ASP Poonch Masroor Mir and senior officers of district administration were present on the occasion.
