POONCH: The organising committee of the J&K Sports Council Premier League felicitated only international spiker J&K Saqlain of Poonch during the valedictory function of the just concluded mega sports event at the Sports Stadium, here. Saqlain, who led the Poonch League winner, Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh Memorial Club, was honoured by the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Rahul Yadav for bringing laurels to the Union Territory of J&K.
The organising secretary of the event and Manager Sports Stadium, Nirdosh Kumar said, “Saqlain is an inspiration for young sportspersons of the district, especially those associated with the game of Volleyball. He deserves such felicitations. Besides the organisers, Saqlain has also been honoured by the Poonch Volleyball Association.”
The DDC Poonch was all praise for the Shaheed Manjit Club and its chairman, Mohd Tariq for producing championship from the remote border district.
