STATE TIMES NEWS
POONCH: The patients and their attendants visiting the District Hospital Poonch severely criticised non-availability of various facilities.
Chairman Insaf Movement Javed Reshi, Chandandeep Singh, Imtiaz Ahmed, Mohd Rafiq, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Neetu, Rubina Akhtar and many others while interacting with STATE TIMES said that even the drinking water is not available in the hospital premises during this holy month of Ramadan.
The water cooler available in the hospital has gone off road and even the hand pump water is not accessible to the patients and their attendants.
They said that the patients with all types of diseases have to purchase all the prescribed medicines from the market. The hygiene and sanitation in the hospital, it looks, has not been checked by any senior officer they added. The dearth of facilities were brought to the notice of Chief Medical Officer Poonch but no attention was paid the difficulties being faced by the patients, they said.
Some outsiders who had to visit hospital for minor problems alleged that not even a single medicine or glucose bottle was supplied from the hospital when the government has provided number of medicines to be supplied to the patients free of cost from the hospital. Even the syringes had to be purchased by them from outside, they said.
The people appealed to the Director of Health Services to hold an inquiry into the functioning of District Hospital Poonch and the dearth of facilities needed by the patients.
