Poonch District clinches overall AAG Girls Inter-District Divisional Level Taekwondo Trophy

POONCH: The Inter-District Divisional Level Taekwondo competition for AAG Girls concluded successfully at Youth Hostel Nagrota, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu. The event saw the participation of 175 girls from seven districts of Jammu division.
District Poonch emerged as the overall champion of the competition, securing an impressive haul of 11 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals, and 4 Bronze Medals
. These victories have qualified the Gold medalists to represent Jammu division in the upcoming Inter-Division UT Level Taekwondo Championships, scheduled to be held in September.
Upon returning to Poonch, the victorious girls were warmly welcomed by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mool Raj Uttam.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the medal winners and commended Rajinder Singh, the Physical Education Teacher and Taekwondo Coach from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, for his excellent training that led to Poonch’s outstanding performance at the divisional level. Sh. Mool Raj Uttam also praised Sarwan Kumar (PET) and Prabhjot Kour (REK), who escorted the team, and wished all the girls the best of luck for the upcoming UT-level championship.
Gold Medalists: Tahzeem Akhter, Ruksana Akhter, Sana Chouhan, Navya Thakur, Afsana Akther, Noreen Akhter, Farzana Kouser, Sukriti Sharma, Simran Sideeq, Aekta Kapoor, Tajesveen Kour.
Silver Medalists: Himanshi Raina, Aalisha Sarfraz, Asma Tabassum, Iqra Javid, Maleeha Fatima.
Bronze Medalists: Ruksana Kouser, Asma Rafiq, Ritika Sharma, Iqra Taraf.
The commendable performance of these young athletes has not only brought pride to District Poonch but has also set a strong foundation for their future success in the sport of Taekwondo.
