LEH: Indus Chushot Polo Club Ladakh is going to organise polo festival from 11th to 17th July, 2016.
To finalise all arrangements of the festival a meeting was held at Shagaran, Chushot Gongma with the Sarpanch, Naib Sarpanch, Nambardars and women organisations of the village.
Tundup Dorjey, President Indus Chushot Polo Club, Vilas Kadival Owner of Himalayan Fantasy Travel Agency Bangalore, Ahmad Hussain Sarpanch Chushot Gongma II, Abdul Ali Naib Sarpanch Chushot Gongma II, Haji Akbar Ali Nambardar Chushot Gongma, Phunstok Tashi Nambardar Chushot Shamma, Tsewang Nurbu Sarpanch Chushot Yokma I, Ali Akbar Sarpanch Yokma II, Yudol Palmo President Ama Tsogspa Chushot Gongma were present.
Tundup Dorjey said that this initiative has been taken to revive the heritage game of polo on a bigger platform and to bring Chushot on the tourist map of Ladakh so that the villagers here can also benefit from the advantages of the growing tourism industry. Vilas Kadival, owner of Himalayan Fantasy Travel Agency in Bangalore supported this initiative and said that he will help in propagating the event and bring sources who will contribute in overall development of the village be it in education sector or in handicraft sector so that its benefit does not stay limited to one sector but is spread into the whole village community at large.
