Politicizing inaugural of new Parliament distasteful, unwarranted: Gaurav Gupta
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu has expressed anguish against the decision taken by certain political parties to refrain from being part of the opening ceremony of the new Parliament building in New Delhi.
In a statement issued to the media fraternity in Jammu, Gupta said that history will never forgive those who deliberately boycotted the inaugural ceremony of the new Parliament as this was a national cause and not a political function of any outfit.
He said that the old Parliament building was constructed by the British rulers and therefore the new and indigenous Parliament building holds much significance as this is a new start of India’s development story, thus there was no logic behind boycotting this important event of national interest.
Gaurav said that those members of Parliament who have restrained themselves from becoming part of this will have to regret one day taking a wrong decision as such historic moments come rarely in life. “Surely they have missed the golden chance”, he maintained. Gaurav said that the new building seems to be a sign of Akhand Bharat and is testimony to the fact that India has surpassed all the countries which attained independence in the same period through attaining progress by leaps and bounds especially after the year 2014, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country.
