REASI: Police XI won the opening match of T-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by District Police Reasi under the Civic Action Programme at Sports Stadium, here on Sunday. In the opening match, Police XI defeated NHPC XI by eight wickets.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Reasi who, while appreciating the initiative of police for holding such tournaments at the grass root level, said that such events not only help in inculcating sports culture among the youth but also paves way for improving police public relation. Underlining the importance of such events, he said that imbibing the sports culture in youth will wean them away from mobile and video games culture which adversely affect the health of the youth.
Tahir Bhat, SSP Reasi, Sanjay Singh Rana, Additional SP Reasi, Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi, SHO Reasi Kuldeep Krishan, CO CISF, CO 61 RR, Tehsildar Reasi and prominent citizens of Reasi Town were present on the occasion.
