Police XI in semis of Police Martyrs T20

POONCH: District Police XI on Saturday sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing Police Martyrs’ Cricket Tournament after they beat Youth Cricket Club by five runs at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Police XI made 100 runs. Saleem remained top scorer with 23 runs while Israr contributed 20. For Youth Club, Khalid bagged three wickets, followed by Prithpal, who secured two. In reply, Youth Club was bowled out for 95 runs in 19.3 overs. Abid was top scorer with 30 runs. Bali bowled brilliant spell for Police XI taking away four wickets. Nazarat and Iqbal shared two each. Today’s match was officiated by Sunjay Misri and Gurvinder Singh as Umpires.
In today’s quarterfinal encounter, Chief Medical Officer (SMO) Poonch, Dr Naiz Choudhary was Chief Guest, who interacted with the teams. Among others present were Chairman Shaheed Manjit Singh Volleyball Club, Mohd Tariq Khan, DySP, Dr Saleem, DySP, Sager Singh Salathia, DySP, Mohan Lal and Inspector, Anzar hussain.
