Police works out culpable homicide case, 1 arrested

KISHTWAR: The Kishtwar Police worked out a culpable homicide case occurred in the Lidrari, Paddar area. The victim was killed due to the illegal act on the part of the accused owing to his illicit relations with a relative of the accused. The police arrested the accused and has taken him into custody.
As per the details, on February 23, 2018, it was reliably learnt at Police Post Padyarna that a body of one Mohd Hussain son of Sikander Butt resident of Seer Bhata, Dool, Thesil Nagsani district Kishtwar is lying in suspicious condition in a pool of blood at the bank of river Chenab. On receiving this information police parties led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jallani and Dy SP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan under the supervision of District Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary visited the spot and examined the scene of crime and took the custody of the body.
Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the case, the Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary personally visited the scene of crime along with the Additional Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Perbeet Singh. The police got the post mortem of the body conducted in the District Hospital Kishtwar through a board of doctors and initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of Cr PC.
The District Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary while briefing the media said that during the course of enquiry, it was found that on Feb 17, 2018 the deceased Mohd Hussain and one lady (name withheld) resident of Kijayi Paddar boarded a truck bearing registration No. JK02-AA, 6701 and were traveling towards Paddar. When they reached at Bara Maroori the road was closed due to the landslide as a result of blasting. Another truck No. JK02W 0975 which was driven by one Akhtar Hussain son of Rustam Ali Sheikh resident of Padhyarna, which was also on way to Paddar on reaching near the other truck i.e. JK02AA -6701 driven by one Mohd Iqbal also stopped due to land slide. The owner of truck bearing registration No. JK02W- 0975 Mohd Ashraf son of Mohd Shafi resident of Patharnakki and Zahid Hussain son of Israel prepared the food in their trucks and also invited Mohd Iqbal driver of the other truck, in which the deceased and the lady were sitting, to join them for meals, said the SSP.
In the meantime Imtiyaz Ahmed alias Bhola son of Lassa Butt resident of Kijayi Paddar also joined them. All of them prepared the meals and ate together, thereafter Imtiyaz Ahmed alias Bhola asked Mohd Iqbal about the other occupant in his (Iqbal’s) truck. Responding to him Mohd Iqbal told him (Bhola) that there is one lady of Kijayi Paddar accompanied by one Mohd Hussain (deceased) resident of Dool. On hearing the name and residence of lady Imtiyaz started abusing the said lady and deceased and he told that the deceased has an illicit relations with the lady who is his relative. He went into the truck in which the lady and deceased were sitting. After reaching the truck he (Bhola) thrashed the deceased inside the truck and started beating him mercilessly with the blows. The deceased was saved from the clutches of Bhola with the interference of Mohd Iqbal, Akhter Hussain and Mohd Ashraf. The deceased person to save himself ran towards Kishtwar alongside the road facing Chenab bank. Bhola chased him and caught the deceased and started beating him again. By the interference of eye witness present on the spot deceased once again saved himself from the clutches of Bhola. The deceased again ran blindly alongside the road on the Chenab bank where there was a steep fall. The accused ruthlessly chased the deceased till he fell down from the steep fall and died on the spot.
The District Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary said that after thorough enquiry police has converted the proceedings under section 174 Cr. PC into FIR No. 50/2018 under section 304 RPC. The police has arrested Imtiyaz Ahmed alias Bhola. The police besides other evidence will get the statements of the witnesses recorded before the Magistrate under section 164-A Cr. PC. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
