UDHAMPUR: Police on Saturday recovered 332 KG, 500 gms poppy straw (Bhuki) at Chenani and seized one vehicle, however driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
As per the details, a police party of Police Station Chenani under the command of SHO Police Station Chenani laid a surprise Naka at National highway near Chenani. During surprise checking of vehicles, one Truck (JK03A-9328) which was on its way from Srinagar towards Jammu was signalled to stop for checking but the driver did not stop the truck and drove it away towards Jammu. Police chased the truck and intercepted it at a short distance. The truck was subjected to thorough search. During search of the truck, 332 KG, 500 gms. poppy straw (Bhuki) was recovered from the said truck, however truck driver manage to escape. A case vide FIR No.16/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS 179 MV Act was registered at Police Station Chenani.
