Police-public meet calls to check drug menace

RAJOURI: For better police public relations and for imparting awareness among school students against drugs menace, Rajouri Police held series of programmes across the district.
On the directions of District Police Office Rajouri and under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar A Chowdhary, a team headed by SHO Thanamandi Nazir Ahmed Dar held an awareness programme against the problem of drugs.
The said awareness programme was held at Government Middle School Thanamandi in which students and some senior citizens of local area participate.
During the programme the students were made aware about the bad effects of drugs both on individual and society.
All the participants were also requested to help police to nab the bad elements of the community involved in peddling of drugs. Another anti drugs awareness programme was held at Boys Higher Secondary School Darhal to make the school children aware of abuses of drugs and negative impact on individual and society.
They were also appealed to help police to curb the menace of drugs and be positive with a goal in mind to eradicate this evil in society.
Programme was chaired by SHO Darhal Habib Pathan under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi.
Meanwhile, Rajouri Police held a public interaction meeting at village Khui Dheri in Siot under the Dharamsal Police Station.
Meeting was chaired by SHO Dharamsal Romal Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera and AdSP Nowshera.
Local people participated in the meeting and raised general issues of the area calling for solution of the problem while police officer assured that their problems will be put forth before district administration for redressal.
A similar meeting was conducted at police station Kandi which was chaired by SHO Kandi Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of AdSP Rajouri Mohd Yusuf.
Locals of the area took part in this meeting and discussion was held on general issues of the area
