Police organises anti-drug rally

RAMBAN: As part of its Civic Action Programme charted out by Police Hqrs Jammu, District Police Ramban organised an anti drug rally at Batote Town on Thursday.
The rally was organised by about 600 participants including prominent citizens, students of various schools of Batote town, carrying placards having slogans depicting ill effects of narcotic drugs, liquor and cigarette smoking. The rally started from Bhaderwah Morh and culminated at same place after passing through Main Bazar, Dak Bunglow chowk, Bye Pass Road Baggu Nalla. In the police Station, students were made aware of the working of Police Station which was appreciated by People from all walks of life. Under the directions of SSP Ramban, Randeep Kumar and able guidance and supervision of Addl. SP Ramban Mushtaq Ahmed and Dy.SP Hqrs Rafiq Choudhary, SHO Police Station Batote, Inspr Sameer Jeelani, while speaking on the occasion exhorted upon the students to act as torch bearers against social evils of consumption of narcotic drugs, liquor, cigarette smoking, Psychotropic substances etc among the society.
He also dwelt in detail regarding ill effects of consumption of these drugs on the health and well being of individuals in the society. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Naib Tehsildar, faculty members and respectable citizens of Batote Town.
