Police Martyrs NZ Inter Club T-20;Sabhi Hoshiarpur, Minerva Club Chandigarh enter semis

KATHUA: Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur and Minerva Cricket Club Chandigarh entered into the semifinals of the ongoing Seventh Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship, organised jointly by the J and K Police and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Earlier in the first quarterfinal played today, Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur outplayed Road Safety-XI Kashmir by 43-run. Batting first, Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur scored 152 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Amit was the top scorer with 52 runs while Akhil added 31 to the total. For Road Safety-XI, Abid Nabi was the successful bowler who picked four wickets. In reply, Road Safety-XI Kashmir could not chase the target and manage to score 109 runs in 17.5 overs. Pankaj Ladda made 48 runs off 40 balls. Hitesh of Sabhi Club was the outstanding bowler who took five wickets in four overs by conceding just 12 runs. Hitesh was declared Man of the Match and awarded with cash prize of Rs. 3,000 and a trophy by Ghan Shyam Sharma.
In other quarterfinal match, Minerva Cricket Club Chandigarh defeated Vidhya Jain Cricket Club Delhi by 94 runs.
Batting first, Minerva Club set a target of 204 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Tajinder Singh were the top scorers with 59 runs each. Shivam of Vidhya Jain Club took three wickets.
In reply, Vidhya Jain Club failed to chase the target and managed to score 110 runs in 15.1 overs by losing all wickets. Deepak was the top scorer with 44 runs. Naveed Hussain, Gurkeerat Mann and Vinay Choudhary of Minerva Club shared two wickets each.
Gurkeerat Singh Mann was declared Man of the Match and was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 3000 and a trophy by Kartar Singh, President Rajput Sabha, Kathua.
