Police Martyrs’ Cricket Tournament;Poonch XI to meet LoC Club in final

POONCH: Poonch XI to meet LoC Club Poonch in the final of the ongoing Police Martyrs’ Cricket Tournament, part of the sports festival, being organised by District Police at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier in second semifinal played on Tuesday, Poonch XI defeated Police XI. Batting first, Police XI scored 103 runs in 20 overs. Saleem and Israr were the main scorers with 23 and 20 runs. For Poonch XI, Naveed grabbed four wickets.
In reply, Poonch XI achieved the target in 18.4 overs. Freed was the top scorer with 27 runs while Zafer added 15 to the total. For Police XI, Iqbal and Bali shared two wickets each.
Today’s match was officiated by the technical panel including Javid Iqbal and Gurmeet Singh.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch J.S Johar was the Chief Guest in today’s match who interacted with the participating teams and encouraged them to play with true sportsmanship spirit.
Others present were Mohd Tariq Khan, Chairman of Shaheed Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club Poonch, Dy SP Dr Saleem and DySP Sager Singh Salathia.
