Police Golf Course thrown open

SRINAGAR: Police Golf Course has helped to sustain century old game of the Valley during the times, when all sports activities were disturbed and prevented it from being extinct.

This was said by Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, while throwing open the Golf Course with tee off this evening.  The Golf Course was damaged by the last year floods and was closed for golf activities. The organization completed the repairs and renovation on priority making the Golf Course functional.

Rajendra said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been sustaining and nurturing the golfing talent of the Valley, which has helped production of skilled young golfers, besides development of self discipline and sportsmanship among the golfers. He said that JKP has been promoting sports in the State as a part of activity which has helped the game to survive despite challenges.

The DGP said that Police Golf Course remained activate and constantly groomed golf course paving way for the survival of golf in the valley. He said that our aim is to promote golf as a game and ensure production of professional young golfers. The Golf Course with a view to world famous Dal Lake and Zabarwan hills provides a good atmosphere for the golfers to nurture their talent. Due to floods the Golf Course was also damaged and the Organization immediately undertook the renovation work making the Golf Course play worthy, he added.

DGP appreciated the efforts for restoring of golf activities at the Course. He said that the golfers could now start their golfing with new zeal and en joy their golfing.
