PNBT Trust delegation meets Sat Sharma for passage of Temples Bill

JAMMU: A six member delegation of PNBT Trust met BJP President Sat Sharma on Tuesday to seek his support for the passage of Kashmiri Hindu Temples and Shrines Bill in the current session of the State Assembly.
BJP President Sat Sharma gave a patient hearing to the members of the delegation and assured his full support for the passage of the Temples Bill in Kashmir.
The PNBT Trust which spearheads the campaign for the passage of the Temples Bill was led by Dr. A.N Pandit, Virender Raina, Shiban Khaibri, M.K Jalali, B.L Zar and Shadi Lal Koul.
The BJP President and MLA Jammu West sought various details about the Temples Bill and the members of the PNBT Trust delegation updated him about the salient features of the Bill and also the urgent necessity for the protection and preservation of the Temples in Kashmir.
The visiting delegation told the BJP President that the temples of Kashmir represent a continuous flow of 5,000 years old civilisation from the times of Ramayana and Mahabharata and it is our bounden duty to preserve them for the posterity.
The members said that the Temples like Martand, Abhinavgupta Caves and Shankaracharya are world heritage sites and need an institutional mechanism for their protection and preservation.
The members emphasised that the passage of Temples Bill would not only preserve and protect the age old symbols of faith and culture but would go a long way in bolstering the confidence amongst the displaced KP community for their permanent resettlement in Kashmir.
The members of the PNBT Trust delegation assured Sat Sharma that they would remain in constant touch with the BJP leadership on the issue and would work assiduously for the smooth passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill in the forthcoming sessions of the assembly.
