PNBMT holds meeting to discuss arrangements for Chetna Diwas

JAMMU: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organised a meeting of activists, heads of various KP organisations and leading individuals at Ban Talab to decide on agenda of Chetna Diwas and future course of struggle for passage of Temples & Shrines Bill. A number of people from adjoining localities also participated in the event. The meeting was chaired by Prof A N Sadhu while Chairman Roshan Lal Pandita adorned the dias.
PNBMT has been observing Chetna Diwas for last three decades and on this day the Community Speakers lay down core agenda of the KPs in an elaborate manner. Prior to meeting, events were organised at Lale Da Bagh, Anuradha Puram Barnai, Muthi Village, Bhawani Nagar and Jagti in which a large number of people participated and provided valuable inputs. In addition to the inputs on temples bill, issues related to the PM Package Employees and Permanent rehabilitation were also taken up by the general public.
Sundri Lal said that the primary agenda of the trust remained passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill. He said that PNBMT waged an intensive campaign for the last more than a decade and was successful in bringing the bill on the portal of the assembly and the day is not far when the bill would be ultimately passed.
Prof A N Sadhu said that there is no need to get disheartened, we need to redouble our efforts and get back to the drawing board and re-strategise. He said that the temples of Kashmir are an inseparable part of our civilization. Satish Kissu eulogized the role played by Prem Nath Bhat in creating awareness amongst KP community regarding the impending dangers in Kashmir and offered supreme sacrifice. Kuldeep Raina said that the struggle for the passage of the temples and shrines bill has been able to create a global consciousness regarding the condition of the temples in Kashmir.
Chairman Roshan Lal Pandita said that the need of the hour is unity and PNBMT has demonstrated that all parties can come under one banner for the cause if the community. Dr Ramesh President Tral Prabandhak Comittee appealed to all community members, who are part of different political parties to take up the issue of temples bill in their outfits. He also appealed to the general public to make the event of Chetna Diwas a great success. Chairman Roshan Lal Pandita thanked the participants and said that more meetings would be organised in coming days to create mass awareness in the community.
