PNB outlays Rs 104 lakh credit for KCC, Nudra schemes

AKHNOOR: In its drive to reach out to the farmers and people engaged in small business and provide credit to them in the state, Punjab National Bank (PNB) organised Kissan Credit Card and Mudra disbursement function at Akhnoor under the guidance of Bikram Singh Raina, Circle Head J and K. The function was inaugurated by Subash Chander Chief Manager CO Jammu. During the function, 40 KCC and 20 Mudra loans were distributed with total credit outlay of Rs. 104 lakh in the function in which farmers and people of Akhnoor, Shamachack, Aghore and surrounding villages engaged in small business participated.
Subash Chander in his welcome note gave broader outline of Kissan Credit Card Scheme (KCC) and Mudra Scheme aiming at providing adequate and timely support from the banking system to the farmers and people engaged in small business. He added that the scheme will be beneficial to the farmers for boosting their agriculture activities and help them in meeting timely short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, post harvest expenses and profitable marketing of their produce. He informed launching of new scholarship scheme PNB Kissan Balak Shiksha Protsahan Yojana for promoting of education among poor farmers who have taken loans from the bank. Under the scheme bank provides lump sum annual assistance of Rs.2,500 and Rs.3,500 to a male and female child respectively. He also gave details of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) under which funds are being provided to unfunded/unbanked and small enterprises are being brought under formal financial system by providing them affordable credit.
A L Pandita Senior Manager BO Akhnoor urged the farmers to utilize the credit judiciously and repay the loan within the tenure for the success of the scheme.
R.K Bhat Agriculture Department appreciated the role of PNB in reaching out to the people and farmer community in particular in rural and far flung areas. He urged the farmers to avail the maximum benefits of the KCC scheme. Sham Lal Senior Manager Branch Office Shamachak, Sarojni Incharge Branch Office Aghore, and large number of beneficiaries along with Sarpanchs ,Panchs of Dasghal, Tragwal Sunghal, Ambaran, Bhardha Kalan and staff members of the bank were present at the function.
