PM Narendra Modi rally in Udhampur
UDHAMPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing a rally in Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
Here are the highlights:
I see people as far as I can see.
There have been a dozen prime ministers in this country but the opportunity I have had to meet in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, no PM before me would have had.
Earlier if PM came once or twice to J&K in his term, people would proudly say the PM had visited… But there has been no PM who has visited Jammu and Kashmir every month.
Each time I have come here, I have come with plans for development or to stand by you in your hour of need.
I did not waste a second when there was a flood in the state.
I came to Jammu first and then Srinagar, and put the government machinery in Delhi at your service.
Diwali is one festival where people want to be with their families. I decided to spend Diwali with the families that were affected by floods and I came to Srinagar for it.
This isn’t politics, we don’t have to do this to garner votes… I’m doing this because the development of J&K has been stalled for the last 30 years. Corruption, looting and emotional blackmailing has become a habit of politicians here.
I will accomplish in 5 years what hasn’t been done in the past 30 years.
We will make sure where this money allocated for Jammu and Kashmir is going. The ruling party here criticises me and so does the opposition because I have stopped their loot.
There has been so much money sent to J&K by the Centre that this should have been the richest state but it was deposited with a few families.
