UDHAMPUR: A meeting of the district Udhampur unit of All J and K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held at Udhampur on Sunday under the chairmanship of Arunesh Kumar, District President of the Forum.
In the largely attended meeting, the speakers expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of life and property as a result of recent floods in the State and pledged their solidarity with the affected people.
The speakers expressed concern over the School Education Department for issuing transfer orders at this juncture when whole of the State is in distress and demanded that a complete ban may be imposed on transfers as the mid academic session is in progress .
The other demands discussed in the meeting included adjustment of promoted lecturers and those lecturers who have been repatriated from Leh and Kargil Districts, enhancement of the grade pay of principals and declaration of their post as non vacational, removal of pay anomaly of lecturers in Physical Education, running pattern in favour of +2 cadre, formulation and implementation of transfer policy etc. They also criticised the functioning of JKBOSE and demanded early appointment of its Chairman. They also demanded enhancement in rates of remuneration of supervisory and evaluation duties and timely clearance of bills.
Arunesh Kumar shared the concern of the speakers and urged the government to concede all the demands projected by them.
Prominent among those who addressed the meeting include Ashok Sharma (Gen.Secretary) Rajinder Gupta, BrijMohan, Mohan Lal Sharma, Kali Dass, Pawan Gupta Satish Singh, Luxmi Kant, Ravi Kanchan, Rakesh Gupta, Rakeshwar Sharma.
