Playing outside State would improve game, provide exposure: Altaf

SRINAGAR: Minister of Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday urged the valley youth to participate in the sports activities held outsides, saying it will provide them with much-needed exposure to outside world and would also improve their game.
The Minister who was the Chief Guest at a prize distribution ceremony held here said for the growth of a player it is imperative that a player moves out of his comfort zone and plays in different conditions. He said it provides him with a new challenge to overcome, which is the real purpose of sports. He said if the State teams travel outside, they not only learn new things about different cultures, but the interactions and playing with natives also enriches their game.
The tournament was organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Sheri Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.
Bukhari on the occasion presented winner’s trophy to Gani Gliders Blues captained by Abid Nabi and presented runner-up trophy to Gani Gliders Red’s captained by Zahoor Sofi and Man of the match trophy was awarded to Atif Nabi.
Pertinently the match was a selection trial match that witnessed the participation of 30 players among whom a team will be sent to outside state where they will play teams like Saurashtra, Jharkhand, and Delhi.
