SRINAGAR: Annoyed over the bold announcement of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with regard to return of Kashmiri Pandits in cluster colonies in the Valley, hardcore separatist hawk Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday ‘condemned’ the statement of Mehbooba Mufti in which she had said that “Pigeons can’t be left for the cats.”
Showing scant regard for decency, Geelani said, “The lady has lost her mental balance after attaining the power.”
“Comparing Kashmiris as cats is very humiliating statement on the part of Mehbooba Mufti,” he said, adding that the cats are those ‘Indian occupational forces’ who had massacred lakhs of Muslims in 1947 in Jammu region and who are mercilessly killing the innocent Kashmiris since last 69 years.
Geelani reminded Mehbooba Mufti that there were hundreds of Pandit families living in Kashmir with their Muslim brethren and they did not left the Valley.
“They are not only safe at their native places but their Muslim neighbours share their every grief. Even the Muslim neighbours perform the last rites of their Pandit brethren. We will welcome our Pandit brethren on their Ghar Wapsi and they will get respect and love from their Muslim neighbours alike in the past,” Geelani said, adding that nobody will have objection if government will provide them Rs 30 lakh instead of Rs 20 lakhs for their rehabilitation.
While rejecting the statement of Mehbooba Mufti about the Sainik colonies, Geelani said that according to her even if the retired forces personnel of the state are planned to be settled in these colonies, even then there is no justifications in establishing such settlements.
He said that after retirement every employee whether he is civil servant or the forces personal prefers to go to his home so there is no reason for creation of separate colonies for the retired personnel.
“If it will become a trend then every serviceman who serves the state will demand their separate colony and they will create an unbearable burden for the state,” Geelani said that a long term plan of RSS is actually behind the creation of these Sainik colonies and it is aimed to change the demographic character of the Jammu & Kashmir, he added.
