SUNDERBANI: Public Health Engineering (PHE) CP and Daily rated wagers led by a Advocate Devinder Singh held a protest against the department and blocked Jammu – Poonch National Highway at Sunderbani Chowk in support their demands for regularisation.
According to reports the protest was under the chairmanship of social worker Advocate Devinder Singh. Hundreds of PHE CP workers participated in the protest and raised slogans against J&K Coalition Government for not giving attention to the genuine demand of the workers. The protesters also flayed the MLA of the constituency Ravinder Raina for not supporting their genuine cause.
Devinder Singh said that the successive governments have failed to solve the grievances of people of Jammu province including those of CP workers of PHE who belong from different communities. The protesters appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to solve their long pending genuine demand.
MENDHAR: Similar protest was also held by the CP and daily rated wagers at Mendhar under the leadership of Chairman Daily Wagers’ Association Mendhar . Hundreds of the workers took out a rally which passed through Tehsil office, main market, bus stand and blocked the Mendhar road. A large number of vehicles got stranded on both sides of the road.The protesters demanded regularisation after having completed more than a decade’s service. The protesters also handed over a memorandum of demands to SDM Mendhar who assured that their demands will be submitted to higher ups.
NOWSHERA: The PHE Daily Wagers and CP rated workers staged a Dharna and raised slogans against the PHE Department for not regularising them even after completing decades of their service. The protesters led by Ashok Kumar later met the SDM Nowshera Harbans Lal Sharma and handed him over a memorandum of their demands. They also said that the department has not paid their salary/wages for the last 33 months which is infringement of their fundamental rights. The SDM assured the protesters that their demands will be submitted to the concerned headquarters.
