JAMMU: Hundreds of PHE daily rated, ITI and CP workers on Thursday held a protest against the government for its failure to release their salaries and frame policy for their regularisation. A large number of PHE daily wagers, ITI trained and CP workers under the banner of All J and K PHE, ITI Trained and CP Workers Association assembled at Exhibition Ground here and started protest.
The workers raised slogans against the PHE Minister and concerned Chief Engineer. Provincial President of the Association, Tanveer Hussain said the workers will intensify their agitation if the issue was not resolved at the earliest.
Protesters said that they are working in the department in casual and daily wager’s capacity for the last 10 to 20 years but have not been regularised.
The protesters said that they have not been paid their meager salary for more than a year which has reduced their families to the level of starvation.
They said that if their salary is not released immediately they will come on the road along with their families.
