Pharmacists’ delegation meets H&ME Secy, highlights demands

JAMMU: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association led by Sushil Sudan State President met Secretary to Government Health and Medical Education Department Dr. M. K Bhandari and apprised him about various problems faced by the pharmacists of the J and K State.
Later addressing a press conference here today, Sushil Sudan said that he along with Jarnail Choudhary Working President Pharmacist Association Jammu Province, Sheikh Mirazudin President JK Pharmacist Association Kashmir Division and Bharat Bhushan Bhagat District President met Secretary to Government Health and Medical Education Department Dr. M.K Bhandari and apprised him about various problems being faced by the pharmacists of the State.
Dr. M.K Bhandari, who very patiently and keenly listened to all the problems put forth by the delegation assured timely redressal of the same.
Sudan said that the demands put forth before Dr. MK Bhandari included up- gradation of Jr. Pharmacist to other re-organised levels that should be reviewed after five years as per Finance Department U.O. No. A/66/98-1196 dated 11th February, 2007.
The other demands included grant of running grades in favour of pharmacists after every five years as per the practice already in vogue in Health Department; Up gradation of Pharmacists to the post of Block Pharmacy Officer (at SDH Level/ Block Level) and District Pharmacy Officer (at CMOS Offices Level) and Provincial Level as well; Reconstitution of Pharmacy Council with two members one from each division; Grant of RMP during service on the analogy of other states of India; Creation of posts of Sup. Pharmacists at NTPHCs so that the institution can be run round the clock; Amendment of SRO-20 or issue a Govt. Executive Order as already issued for non-gazatted employees of Govt. Medical College Jammu/Kashmir vide Govt. Order No. 26-HME of 2006 dated: 19th January, 2006; DPC regarding pharmacist cadre of Kashmir Division should be conducted on priority basis; Stoppage of transfers of pharmacists of district Kupwara, till all the grievances are redressed and release the salary of whole category as soon as possible.
Leaders of the Association also appealed to Governor to look into the matter personally and pass necessary instructions to redress all the problems as soon as possible.
Prominent amongst others who attended the press conference were R.P Singh, Manjeet Singh, Shafqat Hussain, Jugal Bakshi, Mela Singh, Kulmeet Singh, Vaid Pal Saini, Daleep Choudhary, Vijay Kumar Thapa, Mehboob Kraipak, Surjeet Kumar, Vishal Patil, Tarsem Lal, Kamal Jit, Surinder Kumar and Parshotam.
