JAMMU: PG Law and Sciences of Jammu University and Sarveshwar Club registered win and enters in the Quarterfinals of the ongoing third Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Cup at Parade Ground, here on Friday.
In the first match, PG Law and Sciences defeated Commerce College by 27 runs.
Batting first, PG Law and Sciences scored 129 runs in stipulated 18 overs for loss of four wickets. Gourav played brilliant innings of 69 runs. Nadeem and Sahil contributed 13 runs each. Monu clinched two wickets while Aditya and Mohit took one each for Commerce College.
In reply, Commerce College could not achieve the target and whole side was bundled out for 102 runs in 17.2 overs. Somay Jain (38), Mohit (30) and Subrat (12) runs were the main scorers. Sahil was wrecker-in-chief with four wickets, followed by Vinay, who clinched three wickets. Rohit and Rahul shared apiece each. Gourav was declared Man of the Match.
In another match of the day, Sarveshwar registered a 15-run win against Strikers XI.
Batting first, Sarveshwar set a target of 118 runs for six wickets in 18 overs. Sunil played innings of 31 runs while Narotam made 23 runs. For Strikers XI, Parshant and Sahil shared two wickets each while Ritik and Surinder took one each.
In reply, Strikers XI was bowled out for 103 in 17.3 overs. Sachin (33), Vishal (24) and Mohit (17) were the main scorers.
Pardeep clinched four wickets while Narotam took three and Sunil, Ankush and Kavit shared one wicket each for Sarveshwar XI. Narotam was adjudged Man of the Match.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sanju, Suhail Yusuf, Vinod and Farooq.
Physical Director of the Commerce College, Malik Aijaz was the Chief Guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams.
