JAMMU: Principal, JKPS Kunjwani, Rajesh Rathore made a clarion call to students on its rolls to have a personal library at home. Principal reflected on the reading habits of several eminent personalities and highlighted the significance of books in the making of future leaders.
Reflecting on the paramount importance of books, he said, “books play a quintessential role in every student’s life, as they introduce them to a world of imagination, provide them a wide exposure, improve their comprehension skills as well as boost their memory and intelligence.”
He further added, “the importance of books in our lives cannot be undermined for they not only help in broadening our horizons but also act as doorways of connecting us with the world around us. They function as survival kits, they influence us and leave an impact for the lifetime.”
Every progressive & futuristic school must inculcate the reading habits in children from an early age. An enlightened librarian inspires children to read more, empowers them with a rich vocab, broadens the horizon of their thinking and transforms them into book lovers!
Every child should have a personal library at home. This is the mantra at JK Public School, Kunjwani, Jammu today.
First in the mid-session and then by the end of the session, each student will be asked to share his/ her Personal Library pics with the respective Class Teacher. The best three pics from each class will be put on display at the School Bulletin Board & proud winners from every class will be gifted the selective age-appropriate books.
JKPS Kunjwani appealed all the parents, stating that they must gift the choicest books to their wards on their birthdays. Parents should also inspire other relatives and friends to present books to commemorate the special day of children.
Believing firmly in the dictum “a leader must be a practitioner, not merely a preacher”, the Principal shared the pics of his personal library at home, which makes a decent tally of around 1200 books.
Responding to the query regarding his favourite authors, he shared randomly,
