People seek action over unlawful protests against SHO

KATHUA: A deputation of all socio-religious organizations, senior citizens, Panchs and Sarpanchs of different communities and parties called on Senior Superintendent of Police District Kathua to discuss unlawful and unjustified protest demonstration held by Advocate Vijay Kumar Sharma, General Secretary BJP against SHO Hiranagar on 10th June, 2016 at Dayalachak causing un-necessary inconvenience and harassment to the commuters for two hours in the scorching sun. The members apprised the SSP Kathua that the demonstration by aforesaid advocate was organized only to remain alive in media as well as to establish his supremacy and influence in the locality.
Surinder Singh, Sarpanch said that Naveen Angral, SHO, Hiranagar is an honest officer and is working with dedication for the betterment of every section of the society. “Allegations leveled against the officer are baseless and unwarranted”, he added.
The State Vice President BSP S.R Majotra expressed his serious concern regarding the unlawful protest by BJP leader Vijay Kumar. Majotra warned the leader to desist from such communal activities which cause damage to the prevailing social harmony. He also made it clear that in case the SHO, Hiranagar is transferred on the basis of false allegations our party will hold massive protests throughout the state. Dhian Chand, Ex MLA, Kathua also said that the Tehsil Hiranagar is known for its integrity and brotherhood but few self-styled leaders for their own petty interests want to damage its communal fabric. He said such protests need to be discouraged.
Rattan Chand, Retired SP appealed the department to intervene and identify those who want to defame the Police department with no valid reason.
SSP Kathua, Neeva Jain gave a patient hearing and assured action under rules. Banarsi Dass, Romesh Chander, Bansi, Ram Lal, Daya Ram, Chaman Lal, Karnail Chand, Rattan Lal, Baldev Raj, Hans Raj, Ashok Kumar, Dr. Har Dayal, Baryam Mundaya and others accompanied the deputation.
