People demand rent, arrear for land occupied by army

NAGROTA: A deputation of people of villages Nadore, Nagrota, Baleni, Lower Ban and Suketar Domail led by Rakesh Wazir social worker and Sr. Congress leader met Deputy Commissioner ,Jammu Simrandeep Singh and apprised him with different problems of the people including people of villages Nadore, Nagrota and around who have got their land under army at Village Nadore Nagrota and are facing problems for non clearance of their land rents which are pending for the last more than two years and the arrears too which were accrued when their land rents were enhanced are pending but inspite of repeated reminders neither army nor lower revenue officers are paying any heed and as a result the people are facing lot of problems.
Wazir further said that even passage to the old historic Ambi Shiv Temple too is closed by the army for public which should also be re-opened.
He said that the road between Baleni Bridge to Lower Ban which has got washed away by the rains be restored after some negotiation with army because the old path is completely washed away in the rains and on spot no land is available and a little adjoining land from army can restore the old road.
Deputy Commissioner listened to the delegation patiently and besides giving on spot instructions for some items assured that rest of the points will be taken up at appropriate levels.
The delegation among others comprised of Subhash Chander ,Bansi Lal Shar-ma,Master Sham Lal,Janak Singh, Kalu Ram and Puran Chand.
