KATHUA: People from five Panchayats of Tehsil Basohli, held a strong protest on Monday against representative of their constituency Choudhary Lal Singh, for his failure to black top the Basohli – Dhar Manpur road during last 20 years.
Sarpanch Gian Chand, Sarpanch Rattan Chand, Sarpanch Mahash Ram, Sarpanch Kirpal Singh, Sarpanch Des Raj, and youth leaders Ajay Singh, Arjun Singh, Singh and Bhushan Singh who led the protest said that he had been winning in this constituency with their support both in Assembly and Parliament elections and continuously promising to blacktop this road but as usual he could not provide any service to the voters on ground except the lips-service. They said that Choudhary Lal Singh had every time been ditching and befooling the voters.
The protesters exhibited their sentiments when the MLA reached Basohli to attend an event of Kissan Mela as Chief Guest, organized by the Agriculture Department.
According to information, no kissan was allowed to address the Kissan Mela on the instance of Ch Lal Singh.
