JAMMU: The J&K State Pensioners Association on Thursday sought Government assistance in obtaining PPOs for fixation of additional pension in terms of SRO 138 of 2016.
In a statement issued by the pensioners’ association, its President Krishan Singh, while referring to the notice published in newspapers asking State pensioners and family pensioners to obtain PPOs from the concerned Business Units of the banks for fixation of additional pension in terms of SRO 138 of 2016 has urged upon the higher authorities of Finance Department to depute officials from Accounts and Treasuries Wing for fixation of additional pension at the doorsteps of aged and infirm pensioners who being lonely are unable to go to the banks. He said that the process of obtaining PPOs from banks, fixation of pension at respective treasuries and again submitting the PPOs back to Banks is quite cumbersome for aged pensioners so appropriate assistance should be provided to facilitate the old population.
Krishan Singh called upon pensioners to strengthen All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation headed by a veteran trade union leader Comrade Abdul Majid Khan, who according to Krishan has led persistent protracted struggle and made spectacular achievements against heavy odds.
