PDP must explain what’s wrong with AoA: Omar
STATE TIMES NEWS
Srinagar: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said PDP president Mehbooba Mufti should tell the people what was wrong with the Agenda of Alliance her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had worked out with the BJP.
“Mehbooba’s father negotiated the Agenda of Alliance. So she must tell us what was wrong with it. Her father was CM (Chief Minister for) 10 months with this agenda,” Omar wrote on Twitter.
He was reacting to BJP announcing continuation of stalemate over government formation with the PDP.
Omar said it seemed that Mehbooba was not sure of what she wanted from the Centre as her demands were “too vague”.
“It seems she didn’t know what she wanted from the Centre & got tripped up because her demands were too vague and her response too erratic,” he added.
The National Conference working president questioned the stand of the PDP president saying, “If all she wanted was the Agenda of Alliance, that was a roadmap with a SIX year implementation period. So what was the problem with timeframe?”
Omar also predicted that the PDP president would now claim that she was not asking for anything new and that the Prime Minister had let down Jammu and Kashmir.
“Watch how Mehbooba Mufti will now try & claim that her party wasn’t asking for anything new and how the PM has let down J&K,” he said.
Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday questioned the “secrecy” around the meeting between PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and BJP Chief Amit Shah over government formation in the State.
“Why the secrecy this time around? Last time she met with flowers and shawls being exchanged,” Omar Abdullah tweeted. Mehbooba met Shah on Thursday as intense efforts began to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir, which is under Governor’s Rule since 8th January following death of incumbent Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
On the announcement regarding vacation of land under army use, Omar suggested that Governor N.N. Vohra had “converted political decision into administrative one”.
“Gov. Vohra’s decisions regarding vacation of land by army convert a political decision into an administrative one, thus denying Mehbooba/PDP credit.
“The same has happened with the flood relief which flowed after Gov. Vohra took charge but was missing during late Mufti Sayeed’s rule,” he added.
