BHADARWAH: To show their resentment against the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department for not providing ration in government depots for the last last six months ,People’s Democratic Party (PDP) workers held a torch rally at Bhadarwah.
PDP workers warned CAPD authorities of dire consequences if department further harassed the innocent consumers in the name of insufficient supply from Food Corporation of India (FCI) or any other excuses.
The torch rally in which besides PDP workers several women also participated, started from Pasri Bus Stand and after passing through the Main Market reached Seri Bazaar where strong protest was held.
During the protest and torch rally at Seri Bazaar, speakers said since 5-6 months CAPD Department is not supplying ration (rice, Atta, sugar) to consumers putting them into a lot of hardships and harassing the innocent consumers in the name of verification and demanding Aadhaar Card and sometimes for insufficient or no supply from FCI which is nothing but an excuse and inefficiency of the department which is talking poor masses for a ride.
They said the quality of ration products supplied by the CAPD Department is very poor and a big lobby of ration dealers is also indulging in black marketing of ration items and CAPD is not giving due attention to this menace.
They said that department must improve its way of working and ration to the consumers be released at the earliest.
