PDP-BJP played politics of deception: Mir

RAJOURI: The PDP-BJP combine polarized the polity as part of its pre-poll agenda by raising sentiments of respective regions of the State, said President JKPCC Ghulam Ahmed Mir while addressing a convention of Congress workers, here on Saturday.
Mir stated that the two parties had a hidden agenda before the election to polarise the sentiments of people of Kashmir and Jammu regions as part of their strategy in which they succeeded, as the people could not understand the politics of deception for the sake of electoral gains. He said that the delay in the formation of the government after declaration of results was only to cover up their pre-poll understanding and the common minimum programme was an eye wash to hoodwink the people of the State, while questioning that where are those electoral rhetoric made by the two parties.
He said that Congress would continue to raise the issues of people both inside and outside the legislation and the Parliament. He criticized the Central and State Government for failing to procure the relief of Rs. 44,000 crore for the rain and flood affected people of the state. He said that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had justified joining hands with BJP to secure financial support for the State, but the present government using repressing measures against employees and workers who are protesting for their genuine demands like wages and regularization.
Mir also criticized the government for its anti-youth policy, as the proposed recruitment policy would spoil the future of educated unemployed youth of the state.
Mir asserted that price hike during the past one year has broken the back bone of poor and middle class people in the country because of wrong polices of the Centre Government. He said that Congress will stage a comeback in the country and in the State as people have realized the hollowness of politics of BJP-PDP and their betraying mandate of people.
He said that the people of Rajouri and Poonch have faced three wars beside proxy war bravely and suffered a lot but maintained harmony and brotherhood always.
Senior Vice President PCC, Sham Lal Sharma, in his address, asked party leaders and workers to vigorously launch membership drive in the districts and said that genuine party workers would be recognized from the grass root level. He said that to strengthen the Congress at all levels, shortcomings would be identified and grievances of workers would be addressed to galvanise and re-energize the party in order to play the desired role to win back the faith of the people.
Nawang Rigzin Jora, Leader CLP in his address said that Congress is the only party which has a vision and policies for maintaining the secular fabric of this pluralistic country with different regions, religions and faiths.

Tassaduq Hussian, Parveen Akhtar, Shafeeq Mir, Masood Choudhary, Lovely Gupta, Sajjad Tariq, Iqbal Shawl, Pushpinder Gupta, Susheel Sharma, Subash Sharma, Lalit Mahajan, Manju Sharma, Badadin Malik, Yaqoob Mughal, Shafeeq Kamlaq, Raj Kumar Sharma, Haji Ajzaz, Moulvi Gulzar, Shahil Mir, Som Raj Khajuria, Raja Akram, Jahid Malik (Advocate) and Zahid Abbas.
Earlier, a rousing reception was accorded to PCC Chief at Sunderbani, where Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens and leaders of Block Congress Committees Sunderbani and Nowshera welcomed the new PCC Chief on his first visit to Rajouri and Poonch. Ravinder Sharma-Chief Spokesman PCC, Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma, Thakur Shamsher Singh-Block President Sunderbani, Som Nath and Harbans Lal Bakshi-Block President Nowshera, were among those who gave rousing reception to PCC Chief at Sunderbani.
