SRINAGAR: National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammed Sagar on Monday castigated the PDP-BJP dispensation for creating deep wedge between the regions and people belonging to various religions as per their political exigencies.
“While the BJP is pursuing its larger Hindutava agenda, the PDP is becoming a willing facilitator in terms of targeting innocent Kashmiris to appease New Delhi,” Sagar said while addressing workers at various places across the Srinagar city along with senior party leaders.
Sagar criticised the PDP for undoing the mechanism of equal opportunities of progress to all the three regions of the State, devised by National Conference. He said that the current dispensation is engaging itslef in discrimination, which is dangerous for overall growth of the State.
Describing the tall claims of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in developing Srinagar as a model city just yet another hoax, the NC General Secretary recalled how a senior PDP leader and former minister had proposed shifting of the State capital to Parihaspora in Pattan to undermine the historical importance of the world renowned city.
Sagar decried the exploitative politics of the PDP, saying its leaders in different guises have always ditched the people of Kashmir. He recalled the atrocities being committed upon the people in early nineties during the rule of Governor Jagmohan and now. “The killings, maiming, blinding and arrests has become mantra of the PDP-BJP Government”, he added.
Taking jibe at the PDP for facilitating talks between India and Pakistan to ensure lasting peace in the State, Sagar said that the atmosphere generated in this regard during the tenure of Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister has been vitiated. Addressing the workers, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said that the present dispensation has failed on all fronts and except for indulging in polarisation there is no semblance of the government on ground zero.
The National Conference leaders exhorted the workers to works towards massive victory of Dr Farooq Abdullah from Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.
