PDD daily wagers’ strike enters day 64

JAMMU: Kaam Chhoro Hartal launched by the PDD daily wagers of Jammu District on Tuesday entered 64th day here.
Led by President of the Union, Surjeet Khajuria, the daily workers assembled in the office premises of SE EM and RE Circle Jammu and raised slogans in support of their demands.
The union raised question over the letter issued by the SE (Chairman DPC) District Cadre Jammu on 17th January 2017 which has been forwarded to all the divisions of Jammu province but the said letter has not been given proper weight-age by the concerned Executive Engineers of the respective divisions. The SE has asked for furnishing the information in prescribed formats, but even the said letter has not been delivered to the respective divisions, which raises question over the seriousness of this department to resolve the issue, he said, adding that the union members themselves have forwarded the said letters to the respective divisions but till date no action has been taken in this regard.
The union members warned that in case the concerned divisions do not reply to the said letter before 1st February 2017, they will be forced to start more aggressive agitation in the division offices.
The protest was joined by General Secretary Ashwani Mehra, Press Secretary Ajay Sharma, Parveen Sharma Chief Organiser, Gurnam Slathia, Raj Kumar, Gurdeep Singh, Ashwani Kumar General Secretary, Kiran Paul, Sanjit Kumar President Akhnoor Unit, Davinder Singh District President-Samba, Ranjeet Singh District President, Jammu, Shamsher Singh, Pawan Singh Chib, Suresh Singh, Bachan Lal, Abhishek Jamwal, Pardeep Jamwal, Kishore Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Harsh Gupta, Sonu Kumar, Shashi Slathia, Bansi Lal, Rajinder Kumar and Karan Singh.
