JAMMU: The Kaam Chhoro Hartal of casual workers of the Power Development Department (PDD), demanding release of pending salaries, entered third month on Monday.
Under the banner of the J and K Casual Labourers Union, the protesting workers gathered at the Office of Chief Engineer, Bhagwati Nagar, here and raised slogans against the concerned department. State President of the Union, Akhil Sharma demanded release of pending wages from Wages Head, regularisation and insurance policies for workers, filling up the 5,000 posts which were sanctioned in the year 2010 and end of discrimination with Jammu province workers and compensation to dead/handicapped workers.
