UDHAMPUR: MLA Udhampur Assembly constituency Pawan Gupta on Wednesday extended heartiest gratitude to Dr. Jitendra Singh Union Minister of State Independent Charge for Development of North Eastern Region, MoS PMO, Personal, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space in conceding his demand of sanctioning of Rs. 10 crore for the completion of outdoor Subash Sports Stadium, Udhampur as well as new Indoor Sports Hall under Special Package Jammu and Kashmir as a part of revised allocation of funds in response to a written representation made by MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta.
While interacting with media persons in press conference, MLA Pawan Gupta expressed that he feels proud on this milestone achievement to fulfill the long pending demand of youths of Udhampur especially the sports persons. Gupta gave credit to the people of Udhampur for given mandate in his favour to represent them in the Assembly of the State. Gupta also said that his only mission is the overall development of Udhampur Assembly Constituency and he always raises his voice in favour of the people of Jammu region. It may be stated that Gupta has vigorously been agitating for establishment of independent indoor stadium in Udhampur apart from completion of outdoor stadium which has been abandoned due to bad workmanship for the last over six years and it was only on the persistent demand of MLA Gupta and agitation in the House, Secretary to J and K Government recommended the case of sanctioning Rs.10 crore as a special case for the completion of outdoor of sports stadium, Udhampur besides providing Indoor Stadium at Udhampur as well as release of admissible grant.
