Parvez Rasool gets into India T20 squad; CM congratulates

JAMMU: The sporting community in Jammu and Kashmir went into celebration as their most venerated hero Parvez Rasool made a well deserved comeback into the Indian T-20 Cricket Squad for the forthcoming series against the visiting England side. The Social Media went into over drive once the news came forth.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti congratulated Jammu and Kashmir’s cricketing star, Parvez Rasool for getting selected to Indian squad which would be playing T20 series against England.
The decision to include Parvez Rasool into the Indian squad was taken by BCCI.
In her congratulatory message to Parvez Rasool, the Chief Minister said it is a moment of joy for the State that one of its sons has made history today by joining the Indian cricket team. She said that she has time and again said that the youth of the State have been bestowed with abundant talent and its only a question of opportunity to display that talent. Wishing him success ahead, Mehbooba Mufti hoped that Parvez would prove his mettle in his series against England and make all of us proud.
First to break the news on Twitter was Imran Ansari the State’s Sports Minister who wrote, “Congratulations to our very own Parvez Rasool for making it to the final list of India T 20 team.”
Later speaking to PTI Ansari said, “It’s one more proud day for us as Parvez has made a comeback into the Indian Team. Rasool is undoubtedly amongst our greatest sporting heroes. He has inspired a whole young generation in the State with his extraordinary cricket performances.”
Iqbal Shah, General Secretory of JKCA, while commenting on Rasool’s comeback said “Rasool is a game changer, his presence in the J&K Team has helped many of our boys to perform better. Players like JK Batsman Ian Dev Singh who is among top run fetters in Ranji Trophy this season have been inspired by Parvez. It’s a big day for JKCA today.”
Ranjeet Kalra JKCA’s representative in BCCI while terming Parvez Rasool’s comeback as a renewed ray of hope for State Cricket said, “This comeback of Parvez speaks volumes about his personal commitment and passion for the game. Inspite of an entirely washed out cricket season due to Summer unrest in Kashmir, Rasool came up with brilliant figures with the bat and the ball. “We are also thankful to BCCI and former President Anurag Thakur who always stood in support of JKCA ,especially his noble feature of inviting over the JK team for practicing in Dharamshala or his approving the Special BCCI Talent Search Camps for JK to be held later this year,” Kalra added.
Mithun Manhas seasoned cricketer and J and K’s Ranji trophy skipper said “We are shortly going in for the T20 BCCI tournament and Parvez’s selection in the National side has boosted the morale of the boys.
Every cricket lover in the State is proud of him.”
With his selection, right-arm off spinner Parvez Rasool has become the first cricketer to play for Team India from the State.
The other members of the Indian team selected today by the BCCI include Lokesh Rahul, Mandeep Singh, Virat Kohli(Captain), M. S. Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Amit Mishra, Yuzvendra Chahal, Manish Pandey, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashish Nehra.
