SEECC to protest on Jan 11, ReTs to burn degrees
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Teachers fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir in one voice decided to hold protest on 11th January, 2016 at provincial headquarters of the State under the banner of School Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) and ReT teachers will also burn their certificates as a mark of protest against the humiliating attitude of government towards the community.
This was stated by Abdul Qayoom Wani, chairman SEECC in a press conference, here on Wednesday.
Showing sympathy with ReT teachers, Wani said the committee decided that the examination drama of screening test will be fought tooth and nail and any attempt to humiliate teaching fraternity will not be tolerated.
He also expressed resentment against the arbitrary order of Education Department to induct outsiders (KAS) officers on the posts of Joint Directors in the department just to put halt on the promotion avenues of senior, efficient and dedicated officers.
“The decision is absolutely violation of norms, illogical and unacceptable to the employees of Education Department from class-IV to JDs level,” he said.
Wani said that Education Minister and higher ups of the department are hell bent upon to tarnish the image of teaching fraternity along with other employees of the department.
He asked State Government to resolve the pending issues of teaching fraternity like regularisation of all incharge officers, ReTs, KGBVs and release of time bound cases, pay anomaly of masters grade and all clerical cadres, regularisation of contractual employees working in SSA, RMSA, SBM, inclusion of 16 year service of Mig. Sub. Teachers, earned leave benefits in favour of teaching community, implementation of Minimum Wages Act in favour of contingent paid employees of Education Department etc.
