Parkash Utsav of Guru Hargobind celebrated

JAMMU: The Parkash Purab of Sixth Guru Hargobind Ji was celebrated at Digiana Ashram, Jammu under the supervision of Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch on Wednesday.
During the day long programme a Gurbani Kirtan was recited and lectures were also delivered.
In the end Mahant Sahib in his address asked the devotees to follow the teachings of Guru Ji and dedicate their services for the welfare of mankind. He also asked the youths to keep themselves away from the drug menace.
Many leaders of various Sikh organisations of J and K, including National Shiromani Akali Dal, Sikh United Front J and K, Bhai Kanaiya Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society leaders of social and political organisations also participated and spoke on this occasion.
The leaders who attended the religious congregation were Sudershan Singh Wazir, Dayal Singh Wazir, Mohinder Singh, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Surinder Singh Kala, Paramjeet Singh, Ramneek Singh Bijral, Raja Singh, Fateh Singh, Sukhjeet Singh Sukhi, Rajinder Singh, Harpreet Singh Chottu, Darbinder Singh, Tejpal Singh and Ghajan Singh.
Meanwhile Paraksh Utsav of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, was also celebrated with gaiety and religious fervour by the Management Committee of Gurdwara Baba Chanda Singh Ji Jain Bazaar Jammu and Nirvair a social organisation in which an impressive Kirtan Darbar was held. Bhai Sahib Bhai Vikaramjeet Singh Ji and Jatha, Bhai Sahib, S. Parveen Singh, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Ji and Dr. Tejinder Singh Ji recited Kirtan and highlighted the life history of Guru Sahib.
The Sangat from surrounding areas of Jammu city reached Gurudwara Sahib for the Kirtan and Gurbani Vichars. The Citizens from all walks of life also attended the Kirtan Darbar. On the occasion a Guru ka Langar and Chabil (cold sweet water) was distributed amongst the Sangat.
Sukhbir Singh criticized that despite Gazetted Holiday declared by the government, the educational intuitions/schools and office remained open with the result many could not celebrate the Gurpurab.
The Office Bearers including Gurmeet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Surinder Singh Shinda, Gurnam Singh, Dr. Tejinder Singh, Jagbir Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Surjeet Singh and Raj Kumar were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile The Parkash Utsav of Guru Hargobind Singh Sahib was also celebrated at Gurdwara Chhati Patshahi, Nowshera in which large number of devotees from the entire Sub District participated. After Gurbnani Kirtan and lectures, Guru Ka Langer was also served to the Sangat.
Prominent among those present included District President Ragubir Singh, Raagi Bhai Dharamveer Singh and Dhadi Jatha Bhai Lakha Singh.
