Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh celebrated with religious fervour, devotion

JAMMU: Parkash Purab– Birthday Celebration- of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji, the 10th Guru and founder of Khalsa Panth, resonated with religious fervor and devotion at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Chand Kour Nagar, Jammu.
The celebration drew a large number of devotees from diverse backgrounds.
Local Ragi Jathas, including Bhai Rattan Singh and Bhai Karan Singh, both Hazuri Ragis of Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and Parcharak Bhai Surjit Singh, along with prominent Ragis and Parcharaks from outside Jammu and Kashmir, showcased their devotion through Shabad Kirtans, emphasizing life’s higher values and communal harmony.
Prominent Ragi Jatha of Bhai Jaskaran Singh of Patiala, Bhai Sukhjit Singh Hazuri Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar and renowned Sikh preacher S Sarabjit Singh Dhunda, of Gurmat Gian Missionary College Ludhiana were the main attraction for the Sikh Sangat of Jammu, who recited Shabad Kirtans and Katha about how Guru Gobind Singh ji made profound sacrifices for society.
Balvinder Singh, Vice President DGPC Jammu, highlighted significant Sikh issues like political reservation to the Community, exclusion of Sikh Youths of Valley from SRO-425, non inclusion of Sikh member in JKPSC, exclusion of Punjabi language from JKUT official Bill 2020 etc.
Balvinder Singh also underscored a perceived disconnect between the administration’s decisions and the mandate given by the Sikh Community through the DGPC election. He highlighted the need for collaborative decision-making that respects the elected representatives and addresses the concerns of the Sikh Community on various issues.
DGPC in line with its commitment, honored Sikh Students excelling in various fields, presenting mementos to those who achieved academic excellence and excelled in sports.
DGPC this time also presented mementoes to various Sikh students, who have excelled in sports as well as in the field of education other fields acclaimed by Govt of India or other international organization.
S Ranjit Singh Tohra President shed light on Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s life, history and unparalleled sacrifices made by the great Tenth Guru. He also extended heartfelt gratitude to the civil as well as police departments, PDD, PHE, JMC, CMO Jammu, Fire Services Department, doctors who arranged free medical camp , Sewadars who prepared Langar, sewadars who cleaned utencils of the devotees and all others who put up stalls of free religious books for their cooperation in the Parkash Purab celebration. He also thanked the media, Including IKbani, Hond Digital Media, Apsi Sanjhand Akaal Chanel for providing coverage to the event.

S Surjit Singh, Secretary who coordinated the stage stated that the event not only honored the spiritual legacy of Guru Gobind Singh ji but also addressed contemporary Sikh concerns, fostering unity and devotion among the participants. He expressed gratitude to the Sangat, Sewadars for their contributions, emphasizing the collaborative efforts that made the celebration a success.
Besides DGPC members S Ranvir Singh Jt Secretary, S Harjit Singh, S Jagpal Singh Cashier, S Tejinder Singh, S Avtar Singh , S Balvinder Singh Other prominent personalities, S Charanjit Singh Khalsa Ex MLC, S Varinder Singh Sonu Spokesperson PDP, S Surinder Singh Shingari, S Sunil Dimple. Kalbhushan Khajuria Jt Commissioner JMC Health and Sanitation were present.
